Anybody use it for backs and sides? What was your experience with it.

Thanks

I built my first guitar from wenge and Brad is right, you'll need tweezers. It's on the brittle and splitty side and the pores are like craters. I wasn't all that impressed with it myself.

Some GOOD tweezers. And a magnifying glass!

Just cut up a board, ready for resaw. The one guitar I've seen made of Wenge
was wonderful so I'm looking forward to trying it.

I have about 14 bd ft of it in one board. I just looked at my hand and, although it has been a week since I last touched the board I still see one sliver outstanding! . BUT, it is very pretty wood. The piece I have is mostly flat sawn but is, like I said earlier, pretttttyyyyyy. I will get over the slivers if the result is worth the effort. Any thoughts on sound?

I've used it for carved top electric guitars. Absolutely beautiful wood if you get the right peice. It carves well, but it does make splinters. I fill with epoxy, then do it again until the pores are filled then finish the same as anything else.
